This is the life I want.

Today my wife and I are celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary. I can’t believe that it’s been 8 years already.

This is the life I want. A life with her. She is my inspiration. She is the reason why I get up in the morning, and try a little harder today. When I’m down, her smile lifts me up. When I feel lost, she is my light guiding the day. I’ll take any day with her, be it happy, sad, cold, or warm…as long as she’s there.

We, too often, spend our days looking forward to the next best thing. When we have kids. When the kids are in school. When the kids are out of the house. When we retire. Too many times we fail to stop and enjoy what we have today.

You pile up enough tomorrows, and you’ll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays.

I’m living and loving today. It’s been 8 great years. You are right honey, we have laughed, cried, got upset, made up, shared secrets and stories, experienced heartaches and miracles. That I’ll take it all, because I have you.
